The result: by late Saturday his objective of making the conversation all about protest and not about Black Lives Matter worked. Just see the Google Trends patterns. The white media helped by expressing no concern that the Black Lives Matter agenda was not fully reflected in the reasons for the protests to happen. I even received an email about the planned Oakland action that contained a press release on the right to protest in Oakland. No mention of Black Lives Matter.
