UNLV Cut Ties With Raiders/ Majestic Really Gave Up On Las Vegas Airport Site - Video
According to the Las Vegas Sun on June 3rd and in an article that was written in such a way as to not mention the Oakland Raiders or the NFL, the University of Nevada Las Vegas gave up on their pursuit of a football stadium on land next to Las Vegas International Airport because they believed the FAA restrictions were too much to overcome. UNLV then considered a second site on land offered by Majestic Realty, but then rejected that too. UNLV is working on its own to build a 50,000 seat stadium. This then explains why the Oakland Raiders Las Vegas Stadium project is still in the discussion phase of the Southern Nevada Tourism and Infrastructure Committee and why June 23rd has just the LVCC Expansion recommendation. The stadium is further behind schedule than has been reported. There are too many unknowns to force a recommendation at this time. Like, for one, where will it be? Stay turned.
