Racial Discrimination Is Hidden In Today’s U.S. Housing Market A government hearing on combating homelessness was the backdrop for this testimony from Chancela Al-Mansour, The Executive Director of the Housing Rights Center In Los Angeles. She explained that racial discrimination in housing is hidden today. No one will tell you they don’t want you because you’re black. But what happens is the racial discrimination is done behind the person’s back. In Oakland, there’s no evidence the City of Oakland is combating housing discrimination. But of the 17,000 illegal evictions in Oakland since 2007, the majority have been black and elderly. Stay tuned.
