Prayer Service And Vigil For San Franciscans Whose Plane Vanished In Mendocino County Prayer Service and Vigil for San Franciscans Whose Plane Vanished over Lost Coast in Mendocino County Justin Winfrey is beloved leader in S.F. African American community, Kayla Rodriguez is respected nurse DATE: 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019 WHERE: Third Baptist Church, 1399 McAllister St., San Francisco. WHAT: Family and friends of Justin Winfrey and Kayla Rodriguez will join together with community members to pray for them at a vigil. They have been missing since Oct. 24. According to the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office, the two were last seen at a restaurant in the town of Shelter Cove in Humboldt County and were reportedly headed to the Brooktrails Airport near Willits. Sheriff's officials say they dropped off the radar at about 9:20 p.m. approximately five miles off the coast between Rockport and Wheeler. The Coast Guard conducted a search for the missing plane, but it was discontinued because of weather and resources. Family members have been canvassing the coastal area, handing out flyers and talking to locals. They also reportedly chartered a helicopter and volunteers with boats have been searching the water for any sign of the plane. The pair were traveling in Winfrey's small plane, a red and white Piper Arrow with a tail number of N4958J. So far, no evidence has been found. The prayer and vigil on Sunday is being held to encourage hope and to encourage local searchers to continue their quest, hopefully to find the couple alive.
