Barbara Boxer Oakland Assault, Atlanta Police Kick Black Woman In The Head, Shows Police Reform Needed Former California Senator Barbara Boxer was assaulted at Jack London Square on Monday, and the sadly all-to-common attack in Oakland leads to questions about why the City of Oakland took $18 million away from the Oakland Police Department at a time when crime is higher than ever. Meanwhile, in Atlanta, two Atlanta police officers, both black, encountered a mentally-ill black woman who brandished a gun. While she was not shot, the police managed to handcuff her and while she was on the ground, the black male officer kicked her in the head. That officer, put on leave without pay, should have been fired. Where did we go wrong? I though the George Floyd controversy would lead to the removal of bad cops, not defunding the police. What's the best way to fight crime? I think it's more patrols, but also more economic assistance to people and business. What do you think? Stay tuned.
