2021 Juneteenth Shooting At Oakland Lake Merritt Reveals OPD Focus On Gang Violence In its press conference yesterday, the Oakland Police Department said the Lake Merritt Shooting Incident the investigator said that “gangs or groups” were responsible for the violence that injured 8 people and killed one person. But what gangs or groups? In the days of the Oakland Neighborhood Gang Prevention Task Force, we knew the names of the gangs and the people behind them. Monday showed the Oakland Police don’t know who the San Francisco Gangs are, or who’s running them, or even if there were really gangs. One thing is clear, the young people there were deliberate in their making of videos. Stay tuned.
