Oakland A's Las Vegas Ballpark Update - Tropicana Bid Not True For Now, Here's Why The latest news on the future home of the Oakland A's comes from CNBC, but not via its website - it's by Seeking Alpha. Seeking Alpha is the great financial website for stock news and industry updates. It is generally reliable. But what it posted in this case was off. This was the line: The Oakland A's Major League Baseball team is said to have made a bid to build a stadium at the site of the Tropicana casino in Las Vegas, which is being acquired by Bally's, according to a CNBC report. From: https://ift.tt/3xH5yVL And the CNBC report is a link. But it's not to the CNBC website, it's to a tweet. This one: @JGolden5 Breaking: @contessabrewer reports that the @Athletics are looking at the Tropicana in Las Vegas to build a stadium. It’s owned by Bally’s. Other sites under consideration are owned by Wynn and Caesars $BALY $WYNN $CZR And so Contessa Brewer tweets nothing, but retweets that tweet from Jess Golden. Ok? But take note: the report is that the A's are LOOKING, not that they put an offer on the property. Big difference. I still hold that the A's put an offer on the Las Vegas Festival Grounds Property. Sure, the A's can keep looking, but that's the logical choice. If you have not read my post on that, it's here:
