Derreck B Johnson, Once Oakland At-Large Seat Candidate, In Washington D.C. For Inauguration 2021
Derreck B Johnson, Once Oakland At-Large Seat Candidate, In Washington D.C. For Inauguration 2021 - Video
Derreck B. Johnson, who ran a close race for the Oakland At-Large Seat occupied by Rebecca Kaplan, announced that he landed in Washington. D. C. for the Biden Harris Inauguration. He wrote: Just landed in the nation’s capital for #inauguration2021 — I am so honored to be given the opportunity to witness history, as President-Elect @joebiden and Vice President-Elect @kamalaharris — one I am proud to call my childhood best friend and sister from another mother — take their oath of office on Wednesday. At a time when our country is facing unprecedented challenges, I have faith that the #BidenHarris administration will lead us out of this darkness and together, build an America that exemplifies our greatest ideals and an America where no one is left behind. Here’s to wishing Derreck and the other attendees great safety. I do have to express concern that we are told to stay away from Washington, yet from Derreck’s post, it looks like only a select few get to go. That’s not a good look headed into the start of a New Democratic Administration. Stay tuned.
