The first Oakland Unified School District Board Meeting of the new year 2021 and the new board saw the resumption of old tricks on January 4th. Here's new board member Mike Hutchinson on Facebook: At my first school board meeting the fix was in and the new board voted 6-1 to elect Shanthi Gonzales, the author of the Blueprint (school closure) resolution, Board President. I voted for myself and EVERY other board director voted for Director Gonzales, even the other 2 new board directors who ran on no school closures platforms. It looks like every other board director just endorsed the policies of the school board we worked so hard to replace. Stay tuned.
